Information for Parents of Car Riders
Crestview Elementary School
We want this to be a safe school year for your child. We ask that you read the following procedures for dropping off students in the morning and picking up in the afternoon. If each of you will follow these procedures, we can assist you in speeding up this process for everyone while keeping everyone safe. Thank you for your patience and help.
Students should not be dropped off or brought into the building prior to 7:00 a.m. Only students in School Age Child Care should enter prior to 7:00.
The drive behind the building is one way. Please enter through the Middle School drive.
Students should be dropped off on the sidewalk on the west side of the building between 7:00 and 7:45 a.m. where members of the staff will be watching and directing traffic. To avoid the possibility of injury, please do not drop off students behind the gym or before getting on the sidewalk.
Students being dropped off should enter the school by the west door near the gym from 7:00 until 7:45. Students or parents with students should not enter any of the back doors of the school building during drop-off.
When dropping off students, please pull forward as far as possible toward the stop sign. By doing this, several cars may drop off students at one time.
After 7:45 a.m. students should be dropped off at the front of the building only and should enter the front doors of the school. This helps keep traffic moving quickly during the heavy flow of traffic from 7:45-8:00.
All students should be ready to exit the cars immediately. This will also keep traffic flowing.
Please use the crosswalks if you are walking your child/children into the school. A staff member will let you know when it is safe to cross.
Car tags must be visible when picking up your child in the afternoons. Staff directing traffic will ask you to park if they do not see a car tag. You will then have to come to the front office to get your child.
Please make sure any other family members or friends who may bring or pick up your children at school are aware of these procedures.
Please follow the instructions of staff members directing traffic. Our main concern is for the safety of your child.
